What personal data we collect and why we collect it

By default, WordPress generates two core types of cookies: session cookies and comment cookies. Both are categorized as “strictly necessary” as they are needed for the website to function properly. They do not require user consent, though they do collect personal information to work.

WordPress does not collect any personal data about visitors, and only collects the data shown on the User Profile screen from registered users; However, some of your plugins may collect personal data.

Personal data is not just created by a user’s interactions with your site. It is also generated from technical processes such as contact forms, comments, cookies, analytics, and third-party embeds.

Submit a request to info@r3nonprofit if you want us to delete any personal data from the website.

Comments

Comments are currently disabled on this website.

If they are enabled, we collect the data shown in the comments form, and from the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here. After approval of your comment, your profile picture (from that service) is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Form submissions and inquiries: If a user fills out a contact form, their name, email address, and any additional information provided (such as phone number or message) are typically used to respond to their inquiry or request.

When a visitor submits their contact information through our contact form, privacy concerns are typically handled in the following ways:

  1. Privacy Policy: Reputable websites have a privacy policy that outlines how user data, including contact information, is collected, used, and protected. This policy should explain the purpose of data collection and any third parties with whom the data may be shared.
  2. Data Security: Websites should implement appropriate security measures, such as encryption and secure servers, to protect visitor contact information from unauthorized access or misuse.
  3. Only people with administrative access can read that information.
  4. Optional Fields: Contact forms may make certain fields optional, allowing visitors to provide only the necessary information they are comfortable sharing.
  5. Consent and Opt-out: Visitors may be asked to provide explicit consent for their data to be collected and used for specific purposes, such as marketing communications. They should also have the option to opt out of future communications easily.
  6. Limited Data Retention: Websites may specify that visitor contact information will only be retained for 15 days. A period is necessary to fulfill the stated purpose, after which it will be securely deleted.
  7. Third-Party Disclosure: No information is shared with any third party, the privacy policy should disclose this, and visitors may have the option to consent or opt-out.

By transparently communicating privacy practices, implementing data security measures, providing visitors with control over their information, and adhering to data protection regulations, websites can effectively handle visitor privacy concerns related to contact forms.
